Official statement from the Android Development team: ”In general, the Android release cadence is one major release a year with some maintenance releases that are substantial still.”

According to sources we can expect to see the new Android 5.0 jellybean in and around November of this year.

The current Ice Cream Sandwich which has been a big hit among Android user’s still only comes as stock for one Mobile phone, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Because of this Android operating system engineers have been working around the clock on major feature updates. Due to all of the extra work going into Ice Cream Sandwich any guess for the release of Android 5.0 Jellybean when all is said and done, is only just that, a guess.

If Android 5.0 Jellybean does come out in November experts are predicting it to still be some time afterwards that it will actually be used in Tablets and phones, around mid 2013 given the current release schedule.

For now it seems Google and Android are solely focused on producing great customer service for the current Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, to ensure user’s are getting the most out of their devices. This should leave Ice Cream Sandwich owners feeling a bit more secure with their software.
