Siri has shocked the people of Coventry in the UK after telling a 10 year old boy to “Shut the f*** up you ugly t***”. Siri swearing! Could it be so?

The child who was apparently on a shopping trip with his father was playing with the iPhone 4S in a local Tesco store and exploring Apples personal assistant software Siri. He had asked it how many people there were in the world when it answered that it wasn’t sure and then proceeded to shun then boy with appalling language which took everyone in the store by surprise.

The boy’s mother, Kim Le Quesne spoke to local news the Coventry Telegraph saying:

“It’s verbal abuse, We can’t believe the filth it came out with. He showed my husband what the phone had said to him and my husband found the store manager and said ‘it shouldn’t be saying that’.”

Although Apple were not able to comment due to unavailability over the holidays, Telco has promised the phone will be sent back to Apple for diagnostics.

So has Siri finally unveiled its dark side? Probably not, the incident has more than likely been instigated by a very clever prankster who has changed the username on the phone so that no matter what the question, the device would always default to the inappropriate phrase.

We all knew that Siri couldn’t possible say such nasty things before reading this didnt we? Well, we all hope so im sure. However, with technology nothing is certain as we have been shown here with hackers. Will gadgets in future be unhackable? with evil pranksters such as these around we can only hope.

Mr Le Quesne also noted that when her son went back the next day, the offending phone was still there on display despite promises of its removal.
